Leeds United followed up their horror of a week with another defeat, this time away at Craven Cottage.
The first half was pretty flat, but the match started to get going after the break, and before long, Fulham took the lead. Willian’s ball from the left could not be properly cleared by the hand of Meslier, and the ball dropped kindly to Wilson who smashed the ball off the underside of the crossbar.
Chants of “sack the board” and “Orta out” could be heard from the away end, and they got even louder once Fulham’s second hit the net. Another ball in from the left could not be dealt with by Meslier, whose effort to clear only reached as far as Pereira on the goal-line who could not possibly miss.
Further frustrations brought on by three poor corners by Marc Roca were relieved when Leeds recycled the ball from his fourth attempt, ending with Cooper firing the ball across, and Sinisterra’s attempt dropping for Bamford, whose effort deflected off Palhinha and past Leno between the sticks.
But it was too little, too late from Leeds, who were unable to create an opening thereafter.
not a game that reflected well on Gracia either but let's be honest, he's picking up the pieces here. The issues are so much bigger than him. Two years of Leeds taking backwards steps.
