Ever since the arrival of Jesse Marsch at Elland Road, names like Tyler Adams jumped into the list of future transfers. The RB Leipzig midfielder played under Marsch back in Adam’s rookie days in New York Red Bulls from 2015 through 2018, winning the league’s Supporters Shield trophy and again briefly in 2021 at RB Leipzig. With Marsch at Leeds United, the demand for USA national team has been high.
Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that a deal has been “100% agreed” between the player and two clubs. The deal totals at £20m with a medical due in the coming days. The American is due to link up with fellow USMNT talisman, Brenden Aaronson.

What can Tyler Adams bring to the table for Leeds United? Adams serves as a defensive midfielder in his RBNY, Leipzig, and USMNT career. Marsch has never utilised a lone defensive midfielder before. He mostly had two centre-midfielders in his formations and has even deployed Rodrigo as the main centre-midfielder in some matches.
Now since Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are gone, Adams can fill in the centre-midfield spot that Phillips had. Adams also brings leadership experience as he serves as a captain for the U.S. National Team, which can suit well in Leeds’ midfield now that the Leeds lad will no longer marshal the centre of the pitch.

Negotiations have begun between Leeds United and RB Leipzig, with LUFC offering €15 million to Leipzig. USMNT fans have been thinking relentlessly about Adams joining his USMNT teammate Brenden Aaronson and reuniting with Marsch.
Adams was asked about the Leeds United rumours but he denied any of it in a press conference months ago. Now, there is a possibility that the American captain will reunite with Marsch and play for Leeds United.
