Leeds United finish their tour in Australia in an honours-even matchup against Crystal Palace.
Sinisterra only managed 11 minutes on the pitch before going off with an injured hamstring, while both Palace and Leeds really went at it physically. Four yellow cards were dished out in 40 minutes, as Adam Forshaw was also taken off in light of the aggressive atmosphere on the pitch.
The Whites showed some decent signs in build-up play but struggled to create anything clear-cut in the first half. Meanwhile, Palace weren’t up to much more at the other end.
In the second half, things brightened up a little, with Summerville winning a penalty on 55 minutes under the frankly soft challenge of Ward. Nevertheless, Rodrigo stepped up and sent Guita the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Leeds’ best chance from open play came when Sam Greenwood slipped an excellent through ball to Gelhardt, whose chipped finish was parried wide by the Palace keeper. The Londoners went on to counter-attack from the resulting Leeds corner, with Klich’s missed tackle opening up the Leeds third for a two-pronged attack. Ayew took it all the way before squaring to Mateta who bundled the ball across the line.
Another gruelling workout for Leeds United in what has been a quite rough-and-tumble preseason thus far. The final match ahead of the new Premier League season kicks off at Elland Road on Sunday against Cagliari.
