Leeds United have been offered the services of New York City’s Valentin Castellanos after Manchester City passed up on the MLS top-scorer.
90min report that City have “recommended” the Argentine to the likes of West Ham, Everton, and Newcastle, with Leeds supposedly the most interested. Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear were spotted in New York this week to discuss a potential move for Castellanos and another unnamed MLS target.
Valentín Castellanos has one elite skill: his ability to receive passes both through aerial battles and by making dangerous runs in the box.

Taty showed both of those last night vs. New England. He's just the most unlucky player in #mls. #NYCFC pic.twitter.com/JbgiUrrCGP
Castellanos has ripped the MLS apart for the last few years, scoring 53 goals and assisting a further 26 in 126 appearances, primarily as a centre-forward. Not only that, the 23-year-old showed up in the big moments, firing home three goals in three playoff matches as NYCFC took home the MLS Cup.
After signing Brenden Aaronson and now on the verge of adding Rasmus Kristensen to the ranks, Leeds could be making quick work of this summer’s transfer window.
