Leeds United’s senior team were beaten by Ajax as part of their double-header against Dutch giants Ajax.
It was an ugly start for The Whites as a poor touch from Ayling allowed Davy Klaassen to swoop in on the edge of the box and fire Ajax into the lead.
Ajax doubled their lead on 28 minutes as centre-back Shuurs burst through the midfield, played a simple one-two with Tadic before chipping the keeper.
it went from bad to worse ahead of half-time as Ryan Gravenberch scored an absolute corker from 25 yards into the back of the net to make it 3-0 going into half-time.

Leeds weren’t up to much going forward (if you didn’t already realise) but came very close to getting one back as the hour mark approached. Stuart Dallas had a shot from outside the box parried into the path of Bamford from a tight-ish angle, hitting the post but probably should’ve scored.
Ajax added insult to injury late on as Danilo drove one across the keeper from the right side of the box to seal an emphatic victory for Ajax.
No doubt it’s important to view this in its proper scope. A poor performance in pre-season will happen sometimes - and the important games are still to come. But there is work to be done still, and seemingly quite a bit too considering some of the mistakes we’ve seen so far.
At the end of the day, things can always be better, and pre-season is the best time to make mistakes. Hopefully, the team learns from them and can kick on going into the new season.
