Leeds United were thrashed by Manchester United at Old Trafford again, starting the season off in a way nobody would have hoped for.
The away side looked off-the-mark from the beginning, with Man United opening up a fair few chances in the opening minutes. Leeds had some nice moments, working De Gea a couple of times but nothing substantial.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring on the half-hour mark as Pogba slipped him in on the left side of the box, and Fernandes snuck the ball past Meslier who managed to get a touch but not enough to divert the shot.
But Leeds got back early in the second half as Dallas nipped the ball to Ayling who lined up a brilliant strike from 25 yards across the keeper into the top-left corner. His first Premier League goal, but the scenes of ecstasy wouldn’t last long...

The home side instantly reinstated their lead as Greenwood went through on goal, drilling a shot across the keeper into the bottom-right corner having latched on to Pogba’s long ball. Another three minutes went by and it was 3-1 as Fernandes’ shot from inside the area couldn’t be cleared off-the-line quickly enough as goal-line technology confirmed the third goal.

And the fourth came another five minutes later as a long ball over the top was lashed into the back of the net on the half-volley for Bruno Fernandes’ hat-trick. Fred made it 5-1 on 69 minutes as a knocked-in a Pogba cutback from the left as the Frenchman left the field with four assists.
A day to forget for Leeds United as they start off the season in shocking fashion. Players and fans alike will have to dust themselves off and get ready to go again as Everton visit Elland Road next.
