Leeds United have made contact with Sampdoria as they enter the race to sign Mikkel Damsgaard this summer, according to Il Bianconero in Italy.
Damsgaard was one of the breakout stars of Euro 2020 as Denmark reached the semi-finals, only to be knocked out by England at Wembley - Damsgaard scoring a wonderful free-kick in the first half.
Sampdoria are apparently “willing to sell“ too, but demand over £25 million for the signature of the young star. Last season, the 21-year-old made 35 appearances in Serie A, scoring two goals and assisting four, this being his first season outside of Danish football.
As per Italian paper, Il Bianconero, Leeds United are reported to have made contact with Sampdoria for Danish winger Mikkel Damsgaard.

Samp "willing to sell" but are demanding a steep €30m (£25.6m) fee
Versatility is a key variable in a Bielsa target, and Damsgaard is an incredible raw talent in midfield, playing a bulk of his senior matches on the left-wing, centre-midfield, striker and right-wing. A utility man of such talent at such a young age could make for the perfect Bielsa project in the Leeds squad - but there’s a lot of competition...
Liverpool, Barcelona, Spurs, Everton and Juventus have all been linked to Damsgaard, so you can expect quite the saga in the youngster’s move this summer.
