Leeds United are reportedly set to beat Sevilla to the signature of left-back Javi Galan, according to Mundo.
The Huesca defender has just one year left on his contract, putting him in the shop window for a cut-price transfer, with his relegation release clause set at £3.5 million. That’s astoundingly cheap, but can the 26-year-old hold-up in The Premier League?
In the 2020/21 campaign, Galan made 37 appearances and assisted two goals while getting his name on the scoresheet just once as Huesca were relegated. Perhaps not the greatest of numbers, but the fact that his team went down is likely a factor in a lack of final product going forward.

According to WhoScored.com, Galan was just second to Lionel Messi in successful dribbles in La Liga, coupled with an 80% pass success rate and 2.4 tackles per game in 20/21. Plus, he made 1.1 key passes per game, which is also solid for a full-back, so we’re looking at a bargain left-back here.
Leeds have also been looking at the likes of Borna Sosa and Romain Perraud, but if Mundo are to be believed, then Galan could be the man to fill the gap that Ezgjan Alioski could be leaving this summer.
