Leeds Player Ratings: Burnley 0 - 4 Leeds

Possibly the best Leeds have played in a back three under Marcelo Bielsa?

Leeds United produced another fantastic performance to win 4-0 away at Burnley. Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison, and a Rodrigo brace scored the goals as Leeds ran away with it.

Burnley started well and Diego Llorente had to make a couple of good blocks in the first five minutes - after those five minutes, Leeds were comfortably the better side. Leeds had most of the play but the only clear cut chance was a Pascal Struijk header which went just wide.

Leeds made the breakthrough in the closing stages of the first half. Mateusz Klich picked the ball up in midfield and drove forward to around 25 yards out before curling a fantastic shot into the bottom-right corner past former Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Leeds were just as on top in the second half and doubled the lead on the hour mark. A corner came out to Ezgjan Alioski, he hit a low shot which was cleverly flicked in by Jack Harrison, and it would only get better.

Jack Harrison played the ball into the feet of Rodrigo, who took a great touch to get away from both Ben Mee and James Tarkowski before chipping over Peacock-Farrell to make it 3-0. Then, two minutes later, Kalvin Phillips played the best pass of the match to find Harrison out on the left. Harrison played Rodrigo through again and he rounded the keeper to make it 4-0.

Time now to look at each player and how they performed. As always you can tell me how wrong I am @mightywhitespod or @ThruItAllLUFC on twitter.

STARTING LINEUP

Illan Meslier - Brilliant save to deny Vydra early in the second half and another from Gudmondsson later on. Solid under crosses throughout as well which is important against Burnley. 7.5/10

Luke Ayling - Defended well throughout, lost a few in the air against Chris Wood but that is to be expected.

Diego Llorente - A couple of important blocks in the first three minutes. Didn’t miss a single thing defensively. Also showed really good quality in possession including several one-twos to get Leeds out from the back. 8/10

Pascal Struijk - Headed wide with the first big chance of the game and should probably have done better with it. Defensively very good throughout, only ‘mistake’ was losing the ball to Vydra for a big chance but that should have been given as a foul. 7.5/10

Stuart Dallas - Solid as a rock throughout. Nothing spectacular but full of energy and popped up all over the pitch. 7/10

Kalvin Phillips - Played the pass of the match in the build up to the fourth goal. Outside of that, played well without being stand out. 7.5/10

Ezgjan Alioski - Had one of the worst shots you will ever see when presented with a good chance in the first half. Had a better one in the second half which Jack Harrison diverted into the goal. Good energy throughout and gains .5 for his piss-taking of Dwight McNeil. 7/10

Mateusz Klich - Gave Leeds the lead with an excellent finish from outside the area. Played well throughout and kept getting into good positions. 7.5/10

Raphinha - Did really well to get Leeds out from their own area and up the pitch to set up the opening goal. Always looked a threat on the ball but most of the danger went down Leeds left hand side today. Couple of decent efforts on goal. 7/10

Jack Harrison - Got into some good positions in the first half but couldn’t find the pass. Excellent little flick to make it 2-0 and divert in Alioski’s shot. Good passes to get the assists for goals three and four. Decent first half, outstanding second half. 9/10

Patrick Bamford - Effort was there and made runs in behind but never really got into the game. 6/10

SUBSTITUTES

Rodrigo (for Bamford, 58mins) - Brilliant touch and finish to make it 3-0. Excellent finish to go round BPF and score to make to 4-0. Came on and immediately showed why he has been playing up front for Spain. 8.5/10

Tyler Roberts (for Klich, 75mins) - N/A

Ian Poveda (for Raphinha, 81mins) - N/A
