Leeds United were beaten by Brighton at The Amex in what was a very poor performance.

Brighton took the lead after a bright start on 14 minutes as Alioski brought down Welbeck with a silly challenge where Alioski tripped the striker with an outstretched arm when already on the ground.

Pascal Gross took the penalty and fired a perfect penalty into the bottom right corner as Meslier came just inches from making the save.

It was a poor game from there as Leeds just couldn’t get going on this one, even when working their way into the game with more possession.

Meanwhile, Brighton were patient and picked their moments to open things up, with Trossard and Maupay on the end of two great chances that should’ve sealed the game within the first hour.

But the home side did manage to wrap things up on the 79th minutes as Welbeck plucked a poor clearance out of the air with an exquisite turn on to his left foot before rifling the ball across goal and into the bottom right corner for 2-0.

A difficult day at the office for Leeds United this time who will need to dust themselves off for next week’s game as Tottenham Hotspur visit Elland Road.
