The Leeds United under-23s took just one season to get promoted to The Premier League 2 Division 1 after victory at Aston Villa secured the league title with two games to spare.

Who would’ve thought that the young Whites would’ve ended up dominating this league after losing their opening game 4-0 when visiting Stoke City? Hope was never lost and the team were ever determined to grow and win. Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood led the way in attack, while Cresswell and Casey have held down a strong partnership at the centre of defence.
I could name check everyone in this squad for their fantastic performances and will go into detail on each player’s performances very soon, but for now, we must recognise how good this team have been this season.
Mark Jackson’s side are only the sixth U23/Reserve side in the club’s history to win their respective league

Nine straight wins is no mean feat, but it came from the greatest of adversities in a lesson that must be learned the hard way. Away to Newcastle, 3-0 up after half-an-hour to 4-3 down by the referee’s final whistle. The lesson of game management was one that the team had to dwell on for a while to keep them from capitulating in the face of pressure again.
They passed their test and showed their maturity and growth through beautiful football that will never fail to delight. Mark Jackson must be given huge credit for how well he has done having replaced Carlos Corberan at the start of the season.
