Leeds United have reportedly named Stade Brest midfielder Romain Favre as one of their top targets in the summer transfer window, according to L’Equipe.
Leeds Live relays reports that The Whites join Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen in the race for Faivre’s signature, despite the 22-year-old signing for Brest less than a year ago. The French side paid just £350,000 for Faivre in the summer and cold now re-sell the midfielder for “close to €20 million.”

His tremendous raise in stock comes from his five goals and three assists from 28 appearances, amounting to a direct goal involvement every 274 minutes in Ligue 1 so far. According to WhoScored.com, Faivre also makes 1.3 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game on top of 1.9 key passes per 90 minutes. For context, Mateusz Klich has averaged 1.1 tackle, 0.4 interceptions and 1.5 key passes per Premier League game so far.
Leeds have been looking to sign a central midfielder for a while now, with the collapsed transfer of Michael Cuisance being the closest The Whites came to upgrading that area of the field this season. L’Equipe claim that Leeds have been interested in Faivre for a while and could move on his signature this summer.

However, Faivre just signed a contract extension in the January window, extending his contract to 2025. This is likely to drive the price for potential buyers even further with Stade Brest looking to make a huge profit on Faivre’s services within one year.
Faivre is not the first Stade Brest player to catch the eye of Leeds United this season, with left-back Romain Perraud also being named as a target for The Whites in the summer transfer window.
