Leeds United managed to win 3 points at Carrow Road against a struggling Norwich City. As usual, Raphinha and Rodrigo played their best match with a goal respectively and also had many other attempts on their throughout the match.
The only downside in this match was the midfield not giving much support as well as turning the ball over and committing fouls that led to free kicks. The defence did their part at the last 20 minutes of the match by locking down Norwich completely.
Here are the player ratings:
Illan Meslier - 7
Meslier had a better match but the lack of communication with the defence still continues (the Norwich goal proved that). If Meslier and the Leeds back 4 can strategize better in opposing corner kicks or plays in the Leeds end, Leeds would have an unstoppable defence.
Pascal Struijk; Liam Cooper; Diego Llorente - 7
All three defenders played a better 2nd half and were a lock in the last 30 minutes once Leeds took the 2-1 lead.
Stuart Dallas - 6
Dallas made defensive contributions by playing back in most of the match. Offensively did not contribute much.
Kalvin Phillips - 7
Phillips made his effective passes like always and made an important assist to Rodrigo to score to give Leeds the lead.
Jamie Shackleton - 4
Shackleton had the worst performance today, fouls that led to Norwich having easy free-kick opportunities and turning the ball over more. It was a match worth forgetting for Shackleton, hopefully he can turn things around next match.
Daniel James - 7
James made many great passes today and had an excellent assist to Raphinha to make the first goal of the match. James continues to improve match by match and hopefully, he can continue being an effective playmaker.
Rodrigo - 8
The 2nd goal scorer for Leeds and an effective finisher, Rodrigo had a couple of chances to add more at the near end of the match.
Raphinha - 8.5
The first goalscorer, Raphinha was the best overall player today. He was locked down by Norwich all day today but he took advantage of that one opportunity by James and scored. Clutch performance today when we needed most.
Jack Harrison - 5.5
Harrison was pretty much absent all match long. He was hardly seen and he made little help upfront.
Subs: Tyler Roberts (NA), Adam Forshaw (3), Cody Drameh (3):
All 3 subs made little to no impact in today’s match vs Norwich.
