Leeds United were eliminated from The League Cup by Arsenal at The Emirates as Chambers and former Leeds loanee Nketiah sealing the result.
The Gunners made a brighter start, with strong tackles from Drameh and Llorente stopping the likes of Pepe and Martinelli at bay. Llorente just about contributed an assist at the other end on 20 minutes when his long sprayed pass met Dan James in the penalty area. The Welshman’s first touch wasn’t quite right though, and his prodded finish hit the keeper at point-blank range.
Cody Drameh was outstanding from minute one tonight. Looked a season pro all game. Beast! #LUFC pic.twitter.com/PSPtoi84SH

Leeds worked their way into the game, with a corner-kick coming off Llorente into the path of Harrison on the edge of the box. He fizzed a volley toward the near post with Leno making a strong save between the sticks. They might’ve made more of a couple of counter-attacks too, particularly where James leads a 3-on-3 with Rodrigo on plenty of space to his right. He took too long though and the door slammed shut.
Arsenal took the lead on 56 minutes from a corner-kick as a deep ball in was headed back across goal by Pepe, meeting Chambers who had just entered the pitch. Meslier came so close to pushing the ball off the line but didn’t manage to prevent the ball from creeping in.
The second arrived when Liam Cooper’s poor header back to Meslier was intercepted by Nketiah, who flicked the ball over the keeper, taking an extra touch and just about missing the open goal entirely but managed to put the ball, and the game to bed.
