Leeds United have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich for midfielder Michael Cuisance for a fee of around £20m according to Phil Hay and David Ornstein in The Athletic, a report also stated by Fabrizio Romano.

The deal includes “a large buy-back clause” meaning there will be a set price for which the current champions of both Germany and Europe could re-purchase the France youth international.
Looking at some data from 2017-18 across the main European leagues, before Cuisance joined Bayern.

In his first season at Gladbach, the only central midfielder in Europe who was more active than Cuisance in carrying the ball with take-ons was Naby Keita. #LUFC pic.twitter.com/zIsBO2k8yV
The buy-back clause shows how highly he is rated by Bayern Munich, and although it is never nice for something like this to be out of Leeds’ hands, this was probably the only way to get the deal done at a price which Leeds could afford at a newly promoted side.
It may not be the only deal structured in this way this summer in the Premier League, with rumours of Rhian Brewster leaving Liverpool in a similar way.
A lot of people thought that Leeds played their best football under Marcelo Bielsa early in last season when playing both Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich in the middle, and a Klich/Cuisance midfield pairing is certainly an intriguing thought.
Leeds are finalizing the deal for Michaël Cuisance, confirmed and here we go expected on next hours! Agreement completed, last details on. Bayern Münich will have a buy-back clause as per @David_Ornstein. Personal terms already agreed. ⚪️ #LUFC #Bayern https://t.co/dTGuIBeO03

It had been reported before the deal was even agreed that Cuisance and Leeds had already agreed personal terms on the deal (which technically shouldn’t happen before the deal is agreed but it is commonplace at this point), so things could move incredibly quickly and we may see a confirmation of the move as soon as tomorrow - not that we should worry if it takes a little longer.
