He’s been set-out from the start of the summer to be the most important signing of the season, and now a deal has seemingly edged closer.

Leeds United have been in talks with Marcelo Bielsa over a new contract since the end of the season, and he is now expected to sign before the players return on Wednesday.

This comes from Phil Hay at The Athletic, who revealed that terms had been more or less agreed with the Argentine, as the club hope to finalise a deal before preseason begins.

Bielsa has been the integral part in the revival of Leeds United, with his signature worth a lot more than the millions on his contract. Bielsa has brought incredible football, an interesting character, togetherness and most important of all; winning back to Elland Road.

A new deal for Bielsa, which will be another short term one, was top of everyone’s list in the summer window, and now Leeds look close to securing him at the club for next season.
