According to Argentinian TyC Sports, Messi has officially communicated to Barcelona that he will activate a clause to end unilaterally his contract!
The ESPN FC crew of Dan Thomas, Shaka Hislop, Stewart Robson, and Julien Laurens answered fan questions during their program, Extra Time. Thomas brought some fan questions from Twitter and one was about the possibility of Messi joining Leeds United to play under Marcelo Bielsa.
Laurens went on to say, “Can you imagine him (Messi) at Leeds? Everybody at Leeds would have a heart attack or something. Just the thought of Messi playing there, can you imagine Jack Harrison, Ben White, and all those great young players that they have and then Messi on the right hand side.”
Ojo !!! Leo Messi acaba de comunicar al Barcelona vía burofax que quiere abandonar el club. El jugador argentino se acogería a la cláusula que le permite rescindir el contrato unilateralmente.

When asked where Leeds will end up in the Premier League table if they have Messi on the squad, Hislop said that they would be fifth. When Robson was asked he explained that Leeds would finish “slightly lower” to eighth.
Signing Messi could make Leeds one of the best clubs in the Premier League. The difficulty is that Messi would want Leeds to sign players his calibre to play alongside of him in order to compete against teams like Bayern Munich, PSG, or Juventus in the Champions League.
Argentina icon Messi’s contract with Barcelona expires until June 30, 2021 but he apparently can unilaterally rescind his contract under the terms of the deal. Will it happen? Of course not. Can a man dream? Sure.
