Leeds United are readying to sign Arsenal striker Sam Greenwood, with The Whites adding yet another talented youngster to their ranks this summer.

Following promotion to The Premier League and PL2, Leeds have pulled-off a number of impressive and shrewd young signings, including Joe Geldhardt, Cody Drameh and Dani van den Heuvel. Now, 18-year old Greenwood is set to be the next addition to Leeds’ under-23 squad.

The former Sunderland youth made the step-up from under-18 football to The PL2 last season, scoring once from 135 minutes of football, accumulated by several short substitutions and one full game playing on the wing against Chelsea.

Overall, in the Arsenal under-18s and under-23s, Greenwood scored six and assisted one in all competitions, working out to around a direct goal involvement every 208 minutes. Overall for the Gunners under-18 side, he’s got a strong record of 15 goals and six assists from 39 appearances, while scoring six and assisting six in 15 under-18 appearances for Sunderland under-18.

He’s highly-rated at Arsenal, but Leeds have managed to agree a deal for his services in a six-figure deal, as he will join the under-23 side with a view to break into the first-team.
