Leeds United have been linked with several strikers this summer, as The Whites look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season. It’s been unclear who Leeds see as their number one striker target, but a report from newspaper AS in Spain has claimed that Rodrigo is subject to a bid in the near future.

Valencia are in a sticky financial situation, opening several players to a cut-price transfer, and Leeds have reportedly set their sights on Rodrigo Moreno, preparing a €25 million bid for the 29-year old.

Rodrigo is keen to talk to Leeds, while Valencia are willing to listen to offers in the region of Leeds’ proposed “first bid”. However, Leeds have got a fight on their hands, with Atletico Madrid also reportedly interested in the Spaniard.

Rodrigo had a disappointing season in goal--scoring terms last season, scoring just seven goals from 34 appearances in all competitions. However, he did show himself to be a creative force for Valencia, assisting 11 goals, seven of which came in La Liga.

What is most concerning though, is that Rodrigo struggled with injury last season, with a recurring knee injury leaving him out of 12 matches last season, most of which were at the end of the season, as shown by TransferMarkt.

Phil Hay added to the speculation, as Leeds haven’t ruled-out a move for Rodrigo, but do see the move as a long-shot.
