Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear has responded to questions on The Whites’ preparation should their chase for Ben White be unsuccessful.

Sky Sports have reported that a third bid has been launched for Ben White following a near flawless season in The Championship, as Leeds finished as league champions, and Ben White won young player of the year.

It is also reported that the 22-year old had rejected a third contract offer from The Seagulls, which leaves Brighton with a reported £25 million on the table in a take-it-or-leave-it deal. This is likely the final bid that Leeds will make for White, with Angus Kinnear telling the media that he has targets ready to go should they not get their man.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kinnear said: “There have been discussions and I think it is going to be challenging to make him a Leeds United player.

“But if it is not Ben White, we have other options which are in advanced stages and we will be closing in on one of them soon.”

Robin Koch from Freiburg is a target that has been linked with Leeds for a while, as the German international enters the final year of his contract, making him available for under £10 million.

Whether Leeds’ persistence for White will be rewarded remains to be seen, but Kinnear assures fans that they are ready to bring in another target as soon as they need to.
