Leeds United are set to compete in The EFL Trophy for the first time in over a decade, but this time it’s the under-21 team that will get great experience in men’s football this season.
The Whites’ academy was promoted to category one status, placing them in The Premier League 2 and giving them the opportunity to play in the upcoming EFL Trophy against League One and Two senior sides.
The draw has been made and Leeds will face-off against Accrington; Barrow; and Blackpool, with the first match day arriving on the weekend of 8th/9th September.

This is bigger than many realise, as the Leeds youngsters will get the chance to play against senior teams and prove themselves capable in men’s football.
