England youth international Loader is thought to be in advanced talks with FC Porto in Portugal and has also been linked to Crystal Palace, but a report in the Daily Mail suggests that Victor Orta is going to try and steal in late to complete a deal.
Although Loader is out of contract, his age means that Reading would be entitled to compensation for the young striker if he moved to Leeds or Palace, but that would not be the case for FC Porto making them strong favourites to complete the deal at this stage.
Loader is still considered a hot prospect, but since making his debut as a 16-year-old under Jaap Stam in a League Cup win over Millwall he hasn’t kicked on to the level expected from him. He has shown bursts of quality though, including scoring Reading’s goal of the season at the end of the 2018/19 season.
What a way to score your first goal. Beautiful! Amazing from Danny Loader!! #readingfc @TheTilehurstEnd pic.twitter.com/OG6xBIQNvk

Loader has been linked with moves everywhere over the last couple of seasons, but the only concrete moves was a transfer to Wolves in August which Reading’s owner Dai Yongge pulled out of at the last minute.
Loader undoubtedly has talent, but it would be asking too much to expect him to contribute much straight away if he was to join Leeds. Personally, if the compensation isn’t expected to be much I think this a fairly low-risk signing, and with the potential upside it would be a risk worth taking.
