Leeds United took all three points from the Riverside, thanks to a Mateusz Klich goal in the first-half.

The first-half was very scrappy and intense, with a great chance coming Leeds’ way on 15 minutes. An excellent ball from Ayling on the right dipped over Patrick Bamford’s marker. The former Boro man’s header went straight to the keeper, as it lacked power on this occasion.

Dallas had a good chance fall to him on 32 minutes, as he started the move after taking the ball off Clayton. He found Hernandez, who returned possession as a cross into the box, with Dallas’ finish being parried by the keeper.

Leeds opened the scoring at the end of what had been a frustrating half, as Costa put Bamford through on the right, who squared it to Hernandez on the edge of the box. His shot came off the inside of the post. It soon came back to him, and his pass on the turn put Klich through, who slotted home off the inside on the far post.

Leeds pushed for a second goal early in the second-half, before Boro started to click into gear, Tavernier tried to lift the ball into Casilla’s far corner from the right side, hitting the top of the crossbar.

Leeds had another big chance soon after, with Costa finding Ayling’s overlapping run. His ball across to Bamford was just diverted from Bamford by Shotton, before the clearance was made.

Leeds struggled to regain control of the match, but The Whites managed to hang-on for another crucial three points.
