Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas has departed from the club as he signs for Championship side Blackburn Rovers on loan, leading him into the end of his contract at Elland Road.
The Scotsman played just six games worth of minutes in last season’s Championship-winning campaign, as Stuart Dallas and Gjanni Alioski overtook him in the pecking order at left-back.
Douglas has had a difficult period since signing for Leeds in the summer of 2018, with injury struggles opening the way for others to stake their claim in the squad. Douglas picked up five assists in his first season but struggled to keep-up with things on the pitch due to fitness.

A loved character in the dressing room, Douglas remains a well appreciated figure in the Leeds squad by players and fans alike for his hard work; good attitude and performances, particularly against his new club Blackburn.
The 31-year old entered the final year of his contract, with The Whites looking to cash-in before they would lose the former Wolves man on a free transfer. Despite his two Championship winners medals Douglas is yet to make a Premier League appearance, but everyone at the club hopes that he reaches the top level soon.
