Leeds United were once again not up to the task at hand as they lost 1-0 to Queens Park Rangers, continuing their horrendous record in London. A Nahki Wells goal, and being screwed over by a referee leading to a defeat.
FULL TIME: The referee brings the game to a close, and Nahki Wells' first half goal gives the hosts a 1-0 win
— Leeds United (@LUFC) January 18, 2020
Leeds had a clear penalty not given, before Nahki Wells handballed twice before scoring to give QPR a 1-0 lead at the break. Patrick Bamford then missed a second half penalty as Leeds meekly surrendered the points, they look scared.
it's the same issue - not killing teams when they get into positions where they should kill them. So many attacking opportunities today which came to nothing.

Kalvin Phillips but the Cherry on the shit-covered cake by getting sent off for a horrendous tackle on Geoff Cameron, he will now be banned for three games, with half our midfielders injured.
I get that Phillips might have been frustrated but that challenge was terrible and idiotic, will now miss 3 games including an integral one at Brentford, should have used his brain #lufc

Time now to look at each player and how they performed. As always you can tell me how wrong I am @mightywhitespod or @ThruItAllLUFC on twitter.
STARTING LINE-UP
Kiko Casilla - Good save to deny Amos after 15 minutes. No chance on opening goal. Distribution was fine. 6/10
Casilla with a diving save to push away Luke Amos' shot. Both sides having a go here. 0-0 on 15 mins. #lufc
— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) January 18, 2020
Luke Ayling - Made a couple of good tackles but did struggle with Eberi Eze. Good cross early in second half for Harrison chance. Good through ball for Bamford to win the Leeds penalty. Got forward well late on but it didn’t lead to much. 5/10
Ayling is piss poor. #MOT #LUFC #QPRLEE
— John M Knox ➡️ (@johnmknox) January 18, 2020
Ben White - Good early tackle to get Leeds out of trouble. Solid enough throughout. 6/10
Liam Cooper - Not as assured as White. Struggled with Osayi-Samuel when he came inside. 5/10
Ayling and Cooper also been very poor today. Currently not good enough to go up, we have to buy there is no other alternative otherwise it’s the same ending as last season #lufc
— brog (@brogann_carterr) January 18, 2020
Stuart Dallas - Yellow card to end a fairly sloppy first half. Could not deal with Osayi-Samuel and sometimes didn’t even try to and just showed him inside. Off at half-time. 4.5/10
Alioski on for the second half - in place of Dallas. Dallas was booked just before half-time. #lufc
— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) January 18, 2020
Kalvin Phillips - Gave the ball away more than normal in the first half. Had a good shot from distance just after the hour mark. Sent off late on for a horrendous challenge, three-game ban incoming. Losing marks for making a ridiculous decision because he was frustrated. 4/10
The red card to Phillips should also change the transfer policy of this window. Forshaw isn't going to back any time soon either; they need another body in midfield before Millwall.

Striker, winger, midfielder and a miracle please. #lufc
Helder Costa - Had a decent penalty shout early on. A mixed bag between looking dangerous and making poor decisions. 5/10
Costa will cost £16 million, let that sink in after seeing him this season. Our biggest investment in nearly 20 years and he is bang average. #lufc
— Jordan (@holky05) January 18, 2020
Mateusz Klich - Quiet first half. Drifted out to the right a lot in the second half and put in some good crosses but remained quiet overall. 5/10
Our problem as well is that we've Forshaw, few weeks away all season & Roberts, always injured. Who are quite clearly not able to be counted on so also need replaced. Klich & Phillips have played pretty much all season. Guys are wrecked. #lufc
— Carson Strain (@CarsyLUFC) January 18, 2020
Pablo Hernandez - Gave away the free-kick that lead to the opening goal. The lack of a handball decision was the major contributor though. Better in possession first half than most of his teammates. Booked for a foul on Eze. Hit the post with a free-kick. 6/10
The team is shattered. It was shattered in January last year and look what happened. This squad is so small and shallow for the intensity Bielsa wants. We wonder why we get so many injuries; Hernandez back for first time in 6 weeks and he’s expected to play 90 mins! #lufc
— Tom Kimber (@TomKimber_) January 18, 2020
Jack Harrison - Very quiet first half. Had a good headed chance early in the second half but mistimed it and put it wide. 5/10
Special mention to Jack Harrison who missed two golden opportunities. Him and Bamford can walk home. #lufc
— Matt (@_mattf7) January 18, 2020
Patrick Bamford - Had a great chance one-on-one with Liam Kelly after 35 minutes but skied his chance, should do better but not a must-score chance. Won Leeds’ penalty but took a really soft penalty which was saved. Has to play 90 minutes when having an off day, I know Leeds need a striker but how Ryan Edmondson doesn’t make the bench is beyond me, a Marcelo Bielsa decision that I cannot understand. 4/10
Defended Bamford until now. He's not good enough. The team need to get 2 new strikers and get rid of 1 #lufc

SUBSTITUTES
Ezgjan Alioski (for Dallas, HT) - Got forward with more conviction than Dallas. 5/10
Jordan Stevens (for Klich, 87mins) - Not on long enough to score. N/A
