Leeds Live’s, Beren Cross has named Manchester City’s Ian Poveda as the next target to arrive at Elland Road this window, following earlier news that young keeper Elia Caprile earlier on.
The England youth star has been chosen among the many City youth players scouted by Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa, with Cross claiming that the two believe that the winger of Colombian descent can make the step into the Championship without issue.
Manchester City winger Ian Poveda moving forward with a Leeds United switch. Would be the second through the door after Elia Caprile. Likely to be permanent now if not in the summer. Orta and Bielsa rate him very highly. #lufc

The former Brentford academy player could come in on a permanent deal, or on an initial loan with a permanent deal organised for the summer, with a fee as yet unknown.
19-year-old Poveda has assisted 2 and scored one in six Premier League 2 matches, while making a single professional appearance in the EFL Cup at Burton Albion last season.
We have little to go on to judge if the versatile attacker could be a success, other than the following tweets, giving a small description as well as a wonderful goal while playing in the UEFA Youth League this season:
Ian Poveda scored two goals in four UEFA Youth League appearances for Manchester City this season - including this belter against Shakhtar. Was playing as a centre forward in that game. #lufc pic.twitter.com/qovqsGnvnM

Potentially, very. Not a heavy weight but he’s still young. Very clever, very good technically and a lovely left foot.

Whether this name from the blue can come to Leeds and do the job remains to be seen.
