Defender Liam Kitching departs Leeds United, headed for Forest Green Rovers. Kitching had spent the last 18 months on loan at local Yorkshire non-League side Harrogate Town.

Per the club’s official website:

Leeds United defender Liam Kitching has today joined Sky Bet League Two side Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old came through the Academy system at Thorp Arch and over the last two seasons spent time on loan at Harrogate Town.

Everyone at Leeds United would like to wish Liam the best of luck for the future.

Forest Green Rovers are most famous for being the “vegan” football club, with the menu at the ground and the food served to the players at training all being vegan. The chairman, Dale Vince, is vegan and believes in the health benefits, so he’s made his club reflect his values. The players are able to eat whatever they want away from the ground, of course.

Forest Green lost in the League Two promotion playoffs to eventual winners Tranmere Rovers, so perhaps Kitching will be the final piece in the puzzle that sees them get promoted.

Anyway, good luck Liam! Hope you like tofu!
