Carlos Corberan will not be leaving Elland Road to take up the manager’s role at Cultural Leonesa. The Leeds United U23 coach is staying put for at least another year.

In addition to being in charge of the U23s, Corberan has been a critical part of Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa’s backroom staff, and has appeared to take a more active role than he had in the past, appearing on the sidelines during first team matches along with the rest of the staff.
Corberan, who spent six seasons as a assistant manager at Villarreal, has been tipped in the past as a possible successor to Bielsa once the Argentine manager moves on. He’s also been responsible for transforming the U23s into champions while still making sure that a number of the Academy players were ready to step into roles in the first team.
It would have been a big blow to lose Corberan, so it’s important that he remains at Leeds for at least the foreseeable future. Leeds fans just need to hope that when Bielsa moves on, that he doesn’t take Corberan with him to his next gig.
