Seriously, what is going on right now

Chances.

Leeds United create chances, but recently, do not create goals.

Ipswich Town created almost no chances, but created goals.

The game was dominated by Leeds, again, but once again the team had trouble turning shots and chances into goals, something that has been blatantly obvious over the past few weeks, and while dominating a game and creating chances have made Leeds a joy to watch over this season, there is something currently broken at the club and the playoffs are not going to be a joy to watch unless something changes.

Perhaps, just perhaps, being down to a right-winger playing at left-back, after the three other players in front of the winger went down injured. This team’s ability to defend seems to have taken a hit over the past few weeks, and that absolutely needs sorting before facing off against Derby County in the playoffs. Leeds can’t even convert penalties at the moment, and that won’t be a problem or anything, right?

After giving up a goal to Ipswich, because why not, Mateusz Klich scored a brilliant goal to send the teams into half-time level. Probably deserved on the run of play, but still a joy to see this team actually score a goal after creating approximately 8000 chances.

Ipswich scored a second goal after a gaping hole was created by Stuart Dallas not being a left-back was exposed and while he can get forward, perhaps Gaetano Berardi would at least not give up stupid goals?

Dallas tried to justify his inclusion in the side by scoring a goal to get the teams level, although he probably was at fault for the second Ipswich goal. So all’s well that ends well right? If only games ended well these days.

Leeds won another penalty, which is odd for this squad, but just as the England national team playing Germany, Leeds can’t convert a penalty as Kemar Roofe sent his spot kick into orbit. A good of a summary of the season for Leeds as you could even want.

And because Leeds are in banter form right now, up a man and level on goals, Leeds somehow managed to screw up simple defending, allowing Ipswich to score three goals for the first time all season. What an absolute shambles.

Leeds will now stumble into the playoffs against a motivated Derby County team that will be looking for redemption after losing against an Ipswich team that had absolutely nothing to play for in this match.

So another loss and this nightmare finish to a dream season continues.
