Samu Saiz’s loan deal at Getafe is up, but it appears that he’s not going to be coming back to Leeds.

Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post reports that while it’s almost certain that Getafe won’t take up the £6 million option to buy, Saiz isn’t wanted at Leeds and will likely find a new club in Spain. Saiz’s Getafe career wasn’t great, as he started only two games for the team from the Madrid suburbs. Getafe just barely missed out on Champions League football, as Valencia’s win in the final match of the La Liga season guaranteed that they would be in the Champions League and Getafe would be in the Europa League instead.

Saiz burned his bridges at Leeds, and now that he couldn’t really get a game at Getafe, so while he’ll end up somewhere, his career has once again gone sideways after a brilliant start under Thomas Christiansen at Leeds last season.
