LEEDS WIN!!!!

The Leeds United U23s won the PDL-North title tonight with a 2-0 win over Colchester United behind two goals from Ryan Edmondson. The U23s have been brilliant all season, and have even advanced in the Premier League Cup, and this victory is well-deserved.

A number of the U23s have made first team appearances this season, with Jack Clarke and Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown being the most high profile members of the team that have appeared for the senior side. Clarke started out with the U23s this season, but quickly worked his way up to the first team and has been a key member of the team this season. He’s getting back into match fitness by playing with the U23s.

Brown has also been playing regularly with the U23s as he builds match fitness after he recovers from an injury suffered last season while he was on-loan and Brighton & Hove Albion. He’s only made one senior appearance for Leeds, but with eight games left in the season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him appear more for the first team after being one of the stars of the U23 team.

A number of the other members of the team have signed new contracts this season, meaning that this core of players will be at Leeds for years to come. Besides the success of the first team this season, the success of the U23s will hopefully be a sign of things to come in the years ahead.
