Matteo, 45, spent four years at Elland Road after joining from Liverpool in August 2000, making 146 appearances and scoring four goals. The most famous of which was his “f**king great goal, in the San Siro” against AC Milan in a 1-1 draw in the Champions League as Leeds reached the semi-final in the 2000/01 season.
We are sending our support to @Dominicmatteo21 after the former Reds player was taken seriously ill earlier this week ❤️

As well as Liverpool and Leeds, Matteo also played for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City. He received international honours both for England (u21 and the “B” side) and Scotland (six caps).
