Looks like at least one of Marcelo Bielsa’s former players still keeps track of how his former manager is getting on, or has been converted to a Leeds United fan.

Manchester City and France international fullback Benjamin Mendy has alerts on his phone to tell him when Leeds United score, as the defender posted to Twitter his happiness seeing Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds winning another match.

Mendy had a pretty good sense of humour about the whole thing as well, interacting a bit with fans on his Twitter account.

Mendy and Bielsa’s paths crossed during the 2014-15 season, as Bielsa was in charge of Marseille during that season. Mendy made 101 total appearances for Marseille in three seasons at the French club before moving to AS Monaco. He is in his second season at Manchester City. Mendy’s City teammate, Jack Harrison, is also on loan at Leeds.
