The 18 year-old Nicell scored a goal for the U23s in the 5-0 pasting of Bristol City. The U23s are undefeated on the season after a great run to finish last year. The youth system is producing some quality players, as Tom Pearce and Jamie Shackleton have both broken into the first team.

In regards to signing the new contract, Nicell said:
I have been here since the age of seven, so I’m delighted to sign again and stay here for longer. It’s very pleasing.
Obviously I’ve worked hard for it so to get given a new deal before my next one runs out is even better so it takes some pressure off.
It sounds like he’s gonna be another star in the making.
