With the transfer window coming to a close on August 9, Leeds United seems desperate to bring in at least one more player before the upcoming match against Derby County this Saturday. Amongst several other players, Leeds are reported to have real interest in acquiring Albert Adomah, a 30-year-old winger from Aston Villa.
don’t see them doing Woods. Cost too high. Besic also very expensive. Norwood has been looked at. Interest in Adomah is genuine. Club would like Pennington on loan but Everton might want him to play more games and Leeds can promise.

Adomah led Villa in scoring last year with 14 goals and added 5 assists en route to their 2-1 playoff loss to Fullham. Needless to say, acquiring Adomah would be huge for this team and would add another legitimate goalscoring threat to an already improved offense. However, one caveat is that like many Leeds players last year, the winger was not in form during latter part of the year, failing to score or register an assist in Villa’s last 13 games.
The Ghanian international started 37 games, and played left-mid in 35 of those appearances. However, in past years Adomah has played a significant amount of time at right-mid, as well as appearing occasionally at forward, so he is certainly versatile enough to fit into the squad wherever he is needed.
At age 30, Adomah is nearing the end of his prime, and he only has one year left on his current contract. Both of these facts would potentially suggest a lower transfer fee, but Villa won’t be keen to lose their top scorer from last season. The speedy winger would certainly be a welcome addition for Marcelo Bielsa’s debut year as manager and could potentially be a game-changing player if Leeds manage to sign him before the transfer deadline this Thursday. 7500 to Holte, an Aston Villa blog, wrote this player preview article on Adomah, so check it out for more information.
Despite the impressive win against Stoke on Saturday, Leeds still have one or two moves that could help improve the squad, but they have very little time before the deadline, so the coming few days should be very interesting.
