Leeds United was a sponsor of the Leeds Pride march last Sunday, and was a good thing.

Some members of the Leeds United Ladies squad walked in the parade to represent Leeds United along with the LGBT Supporters group Marching Out Together.

Per the club’s official website, the support of Leeds Pride wasn’t limited to the parade in the city,

Back at Elland Road there were face painters on hand in the East Stand concourse ready with glitter and rainbows, special stickers were given out to fans and a half-time message from former Leeds United player Robbie Rogers was played on the big-screen to thank the Leeds supporters for their ongoing support towards him and any LGBT+ fans.

Leeds United along with Marching Out Together have worked hard over the past year to make Elland Road a more inclusive venue for people to visit and simply because the club decided to sponsor the Pride festival this year, one young supporter was given the strength to reveal his true sexuality to his parents and join the other supporters taking part in the parade.

Congratulations from everyone at the club to all those that took part in what was a fantastic event in Leeds, the club will continue its work in making everyone who visits Elland Road welcome and part of the Leeds United family.

It’s good to see the inclusive initiatives at Elland Road, no matter how your feelings are towards the footballing side of the club right now, at least it’s being a good citizen in the community right now.
