Oh darn, Leeds is out of the least important of the three competitions they will be involved in this season.
Bielsa on whether the players chosen tonight were ready: "I think they are ready to play. You can't analyse Pearce, Shaughnessy or Shackleton the way you evaluate Phillips, Saiz or Jansson. It's painful to be out of a competition. I would have liked to continue in this cup."

Marcelo Bielsa says that he would have liked to have continued, and that it was “painful” to drop out of it.
Um, it’s the League Cup. No one cares, Manchester City or Manchester United or Liverpool’s reserves are going to plow through everyone until they hit another “top six” team in the semi-finals. And then Arsenal lose in the finals. It has been written.
Just concentrate on the league. Beating Middlesbrough is way more important then cluttering up the fixtures with a midweek match against another team that would rather not be playing.
