Things are getting a bit mad around Leeds United these days, with the club on a tear in the league and winning their first four games in all competitions.

Leeds even have the legendary former Argentina, Chile, Newell’s Old Boys, Atlas, Club América, Athletic Bilbao, Marseille, and Lille manager Marcelo Bielsa in charge of the club. The club has been playing at a level that hasn’t been seen at Leeds since the days of the Champions League semi-finals, when the team featured such stars as Ian Harte, Nigel Martyn, Lucas Radebe, Mark Viduka, and Robbie Keane.

So of course, the most famous thing at Leeds right now is a blue bucket.

Yes, for all of the outstanding football that is being played, and the mad genius who is the architect of it all, the most famous thing at the club right now is a blue bucket.

Bielsa doesn’t like to stand on the touchline, and he doesn’t like to sit back on the seats in the dugout, he likes to sit on the sidelines. At Marseille he used a cool box (or cooler for Americans) to sit on the sidelines, but at Leeds he’s apparently upgraded to a bucket.

It’s bonkers and funny that probably a bit strange that Leeds fans are all excited about the manager sitting on a blue bucket, but hey, it’s not exactly normal for someone with the stature and reputation of Bielsa to show up in the English second division and take over a club that is best know for having a financial meltdown.

So yes, we’ll talk about a bucket, because none of this makes any sense. Everything that is happening at Leeds right now is amazing and wonderful and if Leeds fans want to put pictures of Bielsa sitting on a bucket on T-shirts, well, then, by god, go for it.
