Leeds United are yet to make a permanent signing in this 2018 window though big transfers are now being worked on with the club keeping quiet on these deals. It was revealed earlier this week that the Whites have made four bids for new players, and now three of the names have gradually been revealed.
First of all, a bid for Wolverhampton wing back Barry Douglas was reportedly accepted at a figure between £3-5 million. A medical had been reported to take place on Wednesday, before Sky Sports reported that a medical would be Thursday or Friday before then budging to the weekend. Whenever the medical may be, Leeds look to have this deal completed by the end of the week with this transfer one of the bargains of the window should it be completed. Douglas was seemingly pictured today (Saturday 28th July) outside Elland Road with his family as the club look to conclude this deal.

Patrick Bamford has been looked at by the Whites when the Vydra deal halted, and now it has been reported by Sky Sports that Middlesbrough have accepted a £6.75 million bid from the Whites for the 24 year old. His record has slowed down lately though he has shown untapped potential. The Chelsea academy graduate has previously shown prolific goal scoring challenge and could fit the bill nicely for Bielsa’s new Leeds side. The reaction to this news has been mixed amongst Leeds fans as we wait and see how this transfer progresses. Some have seen the striker’s price as too high while some are baffled at how low the accepted bid reportedly is, it will be interesting to see how this deal progresses over the coming days.

Matej Vydra was pictured in Leeds this week as talks had seemingly been resumed between the club and player. The Sun reported that Leeds had offered a compromise of wage, upping their offer to roughly £40,000 per week. However, more speculation has been messing with heads as Twitter talk led fans to believe that Vydra had failed his medical. This did not seem to be the case according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon. Vydra has since been pictured with the Derby County squad for a friendly fixture. This led to some believing that the deal was once again stalling or off. In truth, we just don’t know what is going on with this saga at the moment, we continue to wait on new developments.
It was also reported that the Whites made a solid offer for Peterborough’s attacker Marcus Maddison however this has not developed any further in the press.
