Leeds reportedly nearing a deal for Brentford’s Florian Jozefzoon

Winger would be another addition to the squad

Brentford v Birmingham City - Sky Bet Championship

It looks like another player might be headed to Leeds United, but this time the deal might be a permanent deal rather than another loan move from Chelsea. After all, you can only loan two players from a single club.

Leeds Untied has been said to be the most likely destination for Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon.

The 27 year-old right winger had a brilliant season last year, scoring seven goals and assisting on seven more as Brentford seemed to punch above their weight in the Championship last year and only fell off the play-off places late in the season.

Before coming to Brentford, Jozefzoon played at PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie. scoring nine goals with four assists in 62 appearances with the Dutch giants. He also played at RKC Waalwijk, NAC Breda, and Ajax in the Netherlands.

Jozefzoon would make an immediate impact on the Leeds side that is lacking some pace in the first team. He would provide a credible scoring threat from the wing and would be able to open up space for overlapping runs from Luke Ayling or whoever else would be playing at right back or right wing back, depending on the formation that is used by Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Tempers have been fraying in the Leeds fanbase as a lack of transfer activity has left many fans grumpy and fearing that the club wasn’t showing an ambition. And while Jozefzoon isn’t exactly Matej Vydra or Abel Hernandez, he’s certainly better than Hadi Sacko or Jay-Roy Grot.

Will this deal keep the hounds at bay? It might for awhile, but Leeds fans will still be expecting more from Victor Orta and the Leeds brass as the club looks to gear up for a push towards promotion. Jozefzoon, however, is a great step in the right direction.
