Leeds will take on Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn later today in what will be the first meeting between the two clubs. The friendly appearance at The New Lawn was part of the deal that saw teenager Jordan Stevens join the Leeds U23s from Forest Green during the January transfer window last season.

The match will be shown free on LUTV via the club’s official website tonight from 19.00. This will be the only free match to be shown on LUTV this pre-season, and it will be available for both overseas and domestic customers. It is also apparently available via the Eleven Sports Twitch feed.

Forest Green endured a tough first season in the Football League. The team won 13 games, drew eight, and lost 25 for a point total of 47, one point more than relegated Barnet. Forest Green also had the third-worst goal difference in League Two, with -23. They will be looking to consolidate their position in the Football League this season, and should be looking to avoid relegation once again.

Forest Green is famously known as the “all-vegan football club” with no animal products being sold at the stadium. The chairman of Forest Green, Dale Vince, made his money in renewable energy and even the lawnmower at the the club is powered by the sun.

Leeds, on the other hand, will feature yet another new manager this season. Argentina legend Marcelo Bielsa will take charge of Leeds for the first time today, and most Leeds fans are pretty excited, even if it’s just a somewhat meaningless friendly.

It’s unknown who will play in this preseason match for Leeds rights now, with a lot of players still trying to make the first team and still more that might not be with the club once the transfer window has closed. The only player we know that will not be involved is Pontus Jansson, as he is still on World Cup break.

So, sit back and enjoy the first Leeds match in the Bielsa era at the club, even if it is just a friendly.
