Well, it doesn’t appear that Andrea Radrizzani will be able to save FC Bari after all.
Radrizzani, along with local businessman Ferdinando Napoli were not able to get a deal done in time, so instead of challenging for promotion to Serie A once again, Bari will have to start over in Serie D, the highest level of amateur football in Italy.
#Bari have officially failed to register for #SerieB, so after 110 years of history they must restart in the amateur leagues. https://t.co/ov6rDuWXtZ pic.twitter.com/HjyU52S6Od

The Mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro, said:
This is a bad day, not only for football in Bari, but for the whole city.
It’s a day of defeat, which burns 1,000 times more than any defeat on the pitch. We tried everything possible, I perhaps even went beyond my remit as a mayor.
I did it as a citizen and also as a fan.
We have to keep working with all our strength because football in Bari cannot end on this July afternoon. The city doesn’t deserve it and the fans don’t deserve it.
Most Leeds fans will feel some empathy with Bari fans as their club starts over because of financial shenanigans done by owners. Here’s hoping that Bari can replicate what Parma has done, and come back from the dead stronger than ever before.
