Leeds have come up with a shortlist for the “Charity of the Year” after receiving over 200 applications.

Managing Director Angus Kinnear had this to say about the process:

On behalf of the club I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who submitted an application, it has been fantastic to see so many organisations getting involved and hoping to partner up with the club.

We are looking for a really exciting project to work on with a charity throughout the 2018/19 season that all of our players, fans and staff can engage with and be a part of and that will have a positive impact and benefit those in our local community.

It’s sometimes nice to remember that we have a club that appears to be committed to making a difference in the community and doesn’t treat the city of Leeds and the fans as inconveniences in their master plan (hi Ken) and generally wants to be part of the community.

And while we, as fans, get antsy and want the club to succeed and win, it’s still nice to see the club do these kind of things that they really don’t have to do.
