The deal to bring Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu is not being revived, no matter what reports in Italy are saying.

Leeds had a deal that they could act on that was agreed in January, but it expired at the end of June with no movement, which means that he’s not coming to Leeds. Full stop.

Back in May, the director of Carpi told the press in Italy that he put a “deadline” on the deal for Leeds to buy Mbakogu. And it was ignored.

It honestly looks like director, Stefano Bonacini, has already spent the money he thought he was getting from Leeds and is getting more and more desperate for the deal to go through.

The deal is not going to happen. It’s just not.

Phil Hay, the Yorkshire Evening Post writer who is the most “in the know” person in the press when it comes to Leeds has said multiple times that he’s been told the deal is dead and not happening. I’ll take his word over yet another “report” from Italy saying that he’s coming to Leeds.

On to the links.
