With all of the speculation at Leeds being linked to a variety of goalkeepers, from Angus Gunn & David Stockdale, has everyone forgot about the reigning Leeds Young Player of the Year?

After the expected departure of Felix Wiedwald there has been a lot of speculation over who should line up between the sticks for Leeds next season. With Andy Lonergan acknowledging that he’s not in the starting plans for Leeds, both Stockdale and Gunn have been linked to a move to Leeds take up the role.

However, Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s performance last season was a revelation, and while the brass at the club seem to have their doubts, wouldn’t the club’s resources be better used elsewhere? Peacock-Farrell is absolutely the future of the club at keeper, so why stunt his growth by bringing in another keeper? He’s not going to get better sitting on the bench. Unless it’s a temporary move, or a move to bring in an experienced keeper that would be able to step in if Peacock-Farrell’s second season isn’t as good as his first. Bringing in someone on high wages expecting to get the bulk of the starts wouldn’t help Leeds long term.
