The date for the Leeds United v Bolton Wanderers League Cup match date and time was confirmed today, with the match set to be played on Tuesday, 14 August.

Per the club’s official website:

The fixture will take place at Elland Road and kick-off is scheduled for 7.45pm.

The Whites last faced fellow Sky Bet Championship side Bolton back in March, where Leeds United ran out 2-1 winners at Elland Road - thanks to goals from Pablo Hernandez and Caleb Ekuban.

Details regarding tickets for the match, prices and on sale dates, will be announced in due course.

Leeds faced off against Bolton at the beginning of last season, beating Bolton 3-2 at the Macron Stadium behind two goals from Kalvin Phillips and a strike from Chris Wood. Bolton narrowly avoided relegation last season, as they survived on the last day after Bolton defeated Nottingham Forest through a 88th minute goal scored by Aaron Wilbraham.

It will be an early test for Leeds, as the League Cup match comes between a tough road trip away to Derby County on 11 August and a Yorkshire Derby against Rotherham United at Elland Road on 18 August. The August fixture list is unforgiving, with Leeds hosting Stoke City, who were just relegated from the Premier League, in the season’s opening match and also making a midweek trip to Wales to take on Swansea City and another trip to face Norwich City the weekend following the mid-week match at Swansea.
