Leeds to host Bolton in first round of Carabao Cup

A lot is going on in football, both on the global level and at Leeds United. You’ve got the World Cup goin on (duh?) and Marcelo Bielsa finally became a part of the Leeds United family. So you’d be forgiven if you even cared that the Carabao Cup draw was held today in Vietnam. Last year, the Carabao Cup was treating Leeds pretty nice, as the Whites won the first unofficial Snake Derby against Burnley on penalties, but weren’t able to take down Leicester City.

Leeds United’s first challenge in the quest for the Cup will be to defeat fellow Championship side Bolton Wanderers. Leeds were drawn to face the Trotters in the first round of the Northern section, with a game set for the week of August 13th. The two sides haven’t played each other in this competition for quite some time, as Leeds beat Bolton 3-1 in the 77/78 season.
