Morning Leeds-in for 21 May: Does Jerry Mbakogu really “deserve” a chance?

Say what?

Apparently the president of Carpi, Stefano Bonacini, thinks that Jerry Mbakogu “deserves” a chance to prove himself in England.

It’s not everyday that the president of a club seems to be actively campaigning to get his player to move on to a different club, but hey, strange times and all that. The Yorkshire Evening Post noted that Mbakogu is represented by Football Captial, the same agency that Andrea Radrizzani was force to sell a share in before completing his purchase of Leeds, so make of that what you will.

It sounds like a deal is pretty much done, but Leeds appear to be stalling on it. His goal scoring record hasn’t looked great the past few years after he helped Carpi to an appearance in Serie A and he’s coming off of an injury. Is all of this giving Victor Orta second thoughts about his transfer? We’ll see.

On to the links.
