Yosuke Ideguchi, the Japan international midfielder who was sent on loan to Cultural Leonesa immediately after signing for Leeds, has been handed a lifeline towards appearing in the World Cup.

Ideguchi was named in the 35 man preliminary squad by Japan manager Akira Nishino after being dropped for the last set of friendlies.

This isn’t the final list, which will be released on 31 May, but he’s still got a chance to go to the World Cup. He’ll be plenty rested at least.
