Oh, what could have been.

Former Leeds star Lewis Cook has been put on “standby” for England ahead of the World Cup.

Cook played for England in a friendly earlier this year after captaining the U20 team to a U20 World Cup victory last summer. If Leeds are to get back t the Premier League, young players like Cook need to be retained. So far, the brass at Leeds have been doing a good job of sealing up the young talent at the club, but they need to resist the temptation of doing what previous owners have done and look to cash out early and for less than market value for players like Cook.

Only time will tell if Andrea Radrizzani will repeat the mistakes of the owners before him. So far he’s done a lot of good with the team in the community, but to really take this club forward, he’s got to hang onto the young players.

On to the links.
